MOAPIA is seeking qualified candidates to join its team for the Community Outreach Position.
This position is located in the Mayor’s Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs (MOAPIA). The incumbent will assist in conducting community outreach activities (e.g. door-to-door visits, phone banking, event planning, or attend community meetings) to the District’s Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community to collect information and promote various government programs. The incumbent will assist in the development and communication of information designed for the target community including document translation and interpretation. The incumbent will assist with case intake and provide necessary follow ups to help constituents. The incumbent will also provide administrative and program support.
Fluent (both writing and speaking) in English and in any of the following languages: Mandarin, Cantonese; Experience in outreach, marketing, or publicity; Ability to work independently; Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook; A Baccalaureate degree is preferred or 3 years of related experience in lieu of degree; Team player; Ability to meet deadlines within a team environment; willing to work on evenings and weekends on as needed basis; has permit to work in the United States.
