DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
This position is located in the Mayor’s Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs. The incumbent will coordinate community outreach activities (e.g. door-to-door visits, workshops, meetings) targeted to the District’s Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community to promote government programs. The incumbent will manage the development and communication of information designed for the target community including document translation and interpretation. The incumbent will serve as a liaison to organizations and agencies for planning and scheduling outreach activities. The incumbent will handle case intakes and provide necessary follow ups to help constituents.
Fluent (both writing and speaking) in English and any of the following languages: Mandarin, Cantonese; Experience in outreach, marketing, or publicity; Ability to work independently; Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook; A Baccalaureate degree is preferred or 5 years of related experience in lieu of degree; Team player; Ability to meet deadlines within a team environment; willing to work on evenings and weekends on as needed basis; has permit to work in the United States.
