10th Anniversary of Language Access Act
Celebrate the passage of the Language Access Act with the Mayor’s Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs (OAPIA) through a series of programs and event. OAPIA will explore the Act’s effect on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the District. The Mayor’s Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs is organizing a series of programs centered around the 10th year anniversary of the Language Access Act. Learn about the early days before the Act was passed and there was the API Initiative, see who the people affected by the Act are in the AAPI community, look at the Act through the lens of Art, and learn more about the groundbreaking piece of legislation that opened the doors to government programs and services for AAPI limited and non-English proficient DC residents and Merchants.
