Capacity Building and Grant Opportunities
The Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs (OAPIA) provides capacity building and funding support to community-based organizations (CBOs) providing grassroots services to the Asian and Pacific Islander (API) community. Through its annual community grants, OAPIA directly funds CBOs to provide complementary grassroots services to the District’s API community. It also seeks public and/or private partnerships that will increase available funding opportunities to the API community.
OAPIA is committed to building the capacity community-based organizations (CBO) that provide services to the underserved API community by:
- Connecting CBOs to various organizations that provide technical assistance and resources,
- Seeking opportunities for public or private partnerships that may benefit CBOs, and
- Facilitating seminars and other training mechanisms to support their development and sustainability.
OAPIA offers the following grant opportunities to qualified community-based organizations:
A Pre-bidder's Conference for the Community Grant will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2009 from 10 am - 12 pm at 441 4th Street, NW Room 1114.
